Eugene Atget show at Art Gallery of NSW

Excellent news for Australians, and particularly Sydneysiders.
The Art Gallery of New South Wales will host a show of 200 of Atget's photographs from 24 August to 4 Nov 2012.

I've always liked Atget and his parisian photographs of buildings, store fronts and urban space. Though it is another sad story of not being able to escape poverty and the grim reaper before recognition and fame. Wish I could see this show, alas I'm halfway round the world.
