Tri-x bulk film
Hi folks.
If anyone is looking for Tri-X 400 Kodak bulk rolls - 35 metres - in
Sydney, Ted's in Pitt St (old Fletcher's store) has got them in stock for a
price that beats even ebay: under 50 bucks, that's around 2 bucks per 36 roll
or under 6 cents per frame! (dang, at this rate this hobby is gonna get expensive
real soon now... )
Emulsion is dated to 06/2010.
No affiliation here: I just know some folks can't find this film in bulk for a
good price anywhere.
And no: you cannot have my roll!
-
That is cheap, do you know how many they had?
I think you mean 30m of 35mm, don't you?
Mick.
-
wow, thats pretty decent actually.
thanks for the heads up.
-
Sorry, my bad: 30.5m - or 100 foot.
Yes, 35mm film.
I counted half a dozen left, after I got mine.
-
Well count yourself lucky, I just tried and according to Matthew on the other end of the telephone, it isn't on special, normal pricing remains.
Mick.

what are they charging for it now?
-
$62.50 including the Great Savings Tax (GST)
Mick.

Yikes! Price rise in two days!
I paid under 60 but that was with half a dozen
reload cartridges thrown in. The ones I like, too:
screw lid instead of click-on.
Still a very good price, I'd say: beats what I get on ebay for same...

Since you're in Australia, you might not have noticed, but there's been some excitement over the fact that Freestyle is selling Tri-X under their house brand name of "Arista Premium." It's available in 100-foot rolls for US$29.99. I don't know how international shipping to Australia and exchange rates would work out, but there's a chance that would be competitive for you. 36-exposure rolls cost $1.99, so the savings from the bulk stuff are pretty small, if you prefer buying pre-loaded cartridges.

$30 USD = approx $45 AUD today, but the shipping is the killer. Minimum shipping from Freestyle or B&H starts at about $40.
