Darkroom Hire - Sydney
Just wondering if anyone knows of a good darkroom for hire, that isn't too expensive.
I'm a student so I don't really have much money...
Possibly an arrangement coud be reached?
Cheap hire in exchange for helping around the lab from time to time?
Thanks,
Alex.

Well, there's the ACP in Paddington which is the cheapest you're likely to find. Don't believe their website - they don't have a RA4 machine any more...
Others, I believe, are Blanco Negro and Point Light but they will be significantly more expensive.
Oh, and welcome to APUG Alex!

There ain't much. point light only hire to people who've done courses with them.

try Chris at Blanco negro in Alexandria/Redfern

Alex,
Another line of enquiry might be to check out the list of Camera Clubs on the FCC (Federation of Camera Clubs) of NSW website and then send a message to the clubs individually asking if they'd circulate your request to their membership, asking if any members have a darkroom you could use. Don't be put off by the club locations - there are members of my club who belong to two or even three photographic clubs around Sydney and they're often miles apart. Having said that, most have gone digital but but there are still a few members in most clubs who have a darkroom - used or not.

Primrose Park camera club has quite a good darkroom and if you join the club I'm sure access to the facilities will be very reasonable. As far as "camera club culture" goes Primrose Park is very left of centre. No competitions! If you want a contact name and email please send me a PM. I am not a member but know some of the prime movers in the club.
