Moran Prize
Fortunately the State Library of NSW has hung concurrently--in a corridor--a selection of Max Dupain's images which afford a chance to see how a master photographer uses light and tonality, a skill sorely lacking in most of the Moran competitors.

I took a turn around the Moran, followed by the Dupain exhibition, followed by the Russian photographers at the Australian Centre for Photography with all those lovely bromoils and Vandyke Browns.
The progression was deeply satisfying.
