Default Kodak Super Fine Grain Developer

CD3 or Mydochrome 6g
Sodium Sulphite (anhyd) 30g
Sodium Carbonate (anhyd) 30g
Water to 1 litre

Use FS, develop for 20 mins @ 20°C
Wash 30 secs

The third of of 3 examples in an Eastman Kodak Patent, this developer gives Fine Grain with B&W emulsions, the other two use a colour coupler. The first uses a coupler added to the developer, which is the basis of the Kodachrome process, the second a coupler incorporated in the emulsion, as in Kodacolor and Ektachrome.
