Film plate on Leica M7
Is it easy to lose the film loading thing on the Leica M7? Since you have to take it apart to load the film.

It's the base of the camera 1.25 X 5.5" depends how careless you are.

I've never lost one. Take plate off, take out film, load film, and return plate to camera.

Always change film in the M7 while standing over a pit toilet. The flow in a sewer will wash the base plate away, whereas you can dig it out of a pit toilet.
