    Film film film

Recent forays to London Drugs and Kerrisdale Camera in Coquitlam Centre and a call to Fotofun in New West have virtually nothing above 400ASA of any brand - colour or black and white.

Where do I go now for 800 1600 or 3200 ASA? Mail order is fine as long as the price per roll is competative - even cross border is okay if the price is right.

    Larry:

Try Beaux Photo, Lens & Shutter in Kitsilano and (maybe) Leos on Granville.

In the past, ABC Photocolour and George King Laboratories were good sources too for colour.

Don's Photo in Winnipeg have responded well in the past to direct enquiries by email, and their shipping charges are reasonable.

For cross-border mail-order, try B&H or Adorama in New York or Freestyle in California. I don't know much about Canadian film prices or shipping charges from any of these places to Canada, but for in-US shopping, prices from any of these generally beat local film prices, even considering shipping -- at least, assuming you want to order more than a couple of rolls. Freestyle's prices are generally best for its house brand (Arista), which is made by various companies (Ferrania for color, Foma for B&W with older stock by others). B&H and Adorama are generally better for name-brand film (Kodak, Fuji, Ilford), particularly if you're willing to buy grey-market film.

Hi Medusa - which Lens and Shutter are you at and will you do mail order? Unfortunately, I am out in Port Moody so it is not easy to get into the Big Town.

When I lived in Vancouver I got almost 100% of my supplies from G King Photo on Cambie & 15th. Excellent people, great service there, and they have a ridiculous amount of film. They will even special order for you. I whole-heartedly recommend them.

    Hello,
I am at the Abbotsford L&S and we can mail out film for you. We need a credit card to charge it to and your shipping address must be the same as the billing address. We can also special order film in for you. We have Ilford Delta 3200 for $9.99 Fuji superia 1600 for $10.99 Fuji Superia 800 for $9.99 and Fuji Neopan 1600 for $7.99.
