Hi everyone. I just thought you might want to know about some of the work that's hanging around town, so to speak.

  1. Just finished today, was an exhibit of E.J. Bellocq's "Storyville Portraits". This show was at the Simon Fraser University Gallery. These are the prints that Lee Friedlander made on printing-out-paper, after he acquired the glass plate negs, in the 60's. It was a decent show, with great documentation. The gallery Director is Bill Jeffries, formerly of Presentation House. http://www.sfu.ca/artgallery/exhibitions.html
  2. Today, a group show "Salon" opened at the member run Exposure Gallery. Their new location on East Broadway @ Fraser, is a bit bigger than the old digs on Beatty St. http://www.exposure-gallery.com/index.htm
  3. Thaddeus Holownia is currently showing at the Winsor Gallery, on South Granville. He shoots on 7x17, and contact prints. I didn't find the work to be that exciting though. Technically competent, but otherwise rather mundane. http://www.winsorgallery.com/exhibits.php
  4. Presentation House Gallery, in North Vancouver, has the show "Moodyville" ending tomorrow. I'll be over there tomorrow afternoon, to see the show before it's over. - Sorry for the late notices, I just noticed the end date on this one - http://www.presentationhousegall.com

There's certainly more stuff on view than I mentioned here, so please feel free to add to this list.
