Default Need to rent a Darkroom?

For those who don't have their own Darkroom, check out www.galleryofphotography.ie in Dublin.

Yearly membership is only €40 and you can hire the darkroom for €15 for three hours (€10 for students).

Chemicals are provided and they cater for 35mm up to 5x4.

I have used it in the past and it is an excellent facility. They also have a large range of photography books on sale at discounts to members.

I was a regular until i built my own darkroom. I've a problem with the powersupply on my enlarger at the moment and will be back to it in a few days.

I really miss being in a group darkroom and often found the helpful advice and opinions from other users to be excellent. I miss that.

The darkroom manager Pete Smyth really knows his stuff and can help out when necessary. And they have several courses for people starting out and getting back to film.

Has anyone used the darkrooms at Airfield Farm (www.airfield.ie)

It looks an excellent venue for a mini-conference *coughs*

I haven't used them, but Airfield is only 10 minutes from my office, so if you ever want me to check it out let me know. In terms of location, it would be handy enough to get to from the M50 (junction 13). It probably would be a good location for a mini-conference as it easy to get to, even close to a Luas station!

Looks ideal for a weekend workshop with Tim Rudman or Les McClean. It also looks like a good place to hold an exhibition.

I happened to drive Airfield today around 11.30am, the car park looked jammed. Just mentioning it as something to bear in mind.

Hi there,
Just thought I'd give Airfield a plug as I have been using the facilities for about a year now. It is a large fully equipped room that is greatly underused. I use it mainly for alt processes so don't use the enlargers but I can confirm that is has a Leitz medium format enlarger and a Durst Colour enlarger with digital timers et al. It also has a quite a few Jessops 35mm for the beginner. Contact me if you need any more details. But suffice to say it's a hidden gem that is greatly underused.

Thanks for the info Dominic and welcome to APUG. Airfield sounds like a hidden gem alright.
