Default Infrared B&W Film Workshop (16th Aug 08)

With so many people asking questions lately in relation to Infrared film, we decided to organise a one day Infrared B&W Film Photography workshop to act as an introduction for anyone interested in this unusual film. This workshop will teach you all the basics required to start using IR B&W film.

We will show you how to expose various types of Infrared film currently on the market and how the combination of film and filter choice affect the final result. We will also dispel some of the myths and misconceptions about using Infrared film.

This is a fun day which will start with a brief discussion and presentation of examples of infrared prints. Then it’s out to shoot some selected locations to put the theory to the test.

Participants will need to bring a 35mm film SLR camera plus a tripod. Two rolls of 35mm film will be provided and development of these films is also included in the workshop fee.

Venue: Trim Castle, Co Meath
Date: 16th August 2008
Time: 10:00 to 17:00
Cost: €75

Please log on to www.fpworkshops.com for more information or to make a booking.

Workshops are a great boost to get you jump-started on a technique or material unfamiliar to you. I highly recommend them. A long time ago I took a weekend infrared workshop at the ICP in NYC and it helped a great deal.

Hi Mel, it would be great to have you on this workshop. You might even manage to drag the penguin with you

Hi Peter,

if this workshop goes ahead I would like to attend. My out of date Kodak HIE is almost gone, so I'll be keen to see what the alternatives are like.

Cheers
Vincent

Hi Vincent,

I'll pm you later with details of how to book etc. but somehow having looked at your work I think you could teach me a thing or two about IR.

Peter
