Loketretta has something to do with the Eddas, so I will suppose it refers to the god Loki's fierce battles... Ole, you have the wisdom of the Havamal.

Now all of you go out and shoot some 35mm!

It's got to do with the Eddas - it's the story of what happened when the Æsir finally got fed up with Loki when his transgressions went way over the line. Punishment in those days were rather more literal and severe than in our civilised age...

I found it apt since the gods were willing to put up with very much from Loki, but when action was finally taken (after several warnings), the reaction was swift - and appropriate.

Alright, it's been locked, cleaned up, and unlocked, so let's stay on topic.

locking this thread is certainly not what i meant

locking a thread is just another form of heavy handed censorship

The way HWHBI (he who has been ignored) was carrying on, it could have been stopped sooner though.
    Thank you.

Apparently, you came not to praise 35mm, but to bury it. Your article is full of factual errors (no digital sensor will ever approach the resolution of 35mm, let alone the tonality), and your prose is so obtuse as to beg the question of what you are even trying to say!

This is the sort of "essay" that 35mm can do without.

In regards to the "Heavy Handed Censorship," I would like to reiterate what has been said in many different threads that this is Sean's website. He owns it. He makes the rule. And he regulates it the way he feels is best for his site. If you pays your money to go watch a baseball game at a ballpark and you start cursing and insulting others and causing a rukus, do you not think that you won't be escorted out of there??????

Now back on topic... I like what Michel has to say about 35mm being a different way of seeing, a whole different set of criteria on composing, choosing film, paper and printing to achieve a desired look to a print. As an art student (many years ago ) in drawing classes, I gravitated towards conte crayons because I liked the look I was getting from them. I never really liked my charcoal drawings, nor with regular drawing pencils. My second choice in drawing utensils was carpenter pencils - I would go to a hardware store and buy a bunch of them.
I liked the "Look" I got from my choices. Many photogers like the Look of 35mm. It is a choice to make.
