Two questions...

I'm not going to hold my breath or anything, but if you win/place/show etc., when and how (matted, framed?) will you need to get your exhibition prints to Foto 3?

Also, who will be judging this competition?

This is exciting Ted, Is there going to be a direct link to the foto3contestrules so that we can forward it to our clients and schools in the area.
We are going to do something again this year that compliments this showing of work in March and will then send down a large amounts of mounted prints to compete in ths show.

If somebody submitted a digital file, and on that basis and was selected as a finalist in the contest, would they then be required to produce a print? I'm a little unclear about what the competition is about.

Normal question not d vs a.

Also, like so many in photograpy, I am both a student and a teacher, So what is the criteria for the student/master designation? (ok, I know where I'll have to enter, but I'm curious how the division is made)

Perhaps these questions will be adressed on the entry form, but they were the ones I have at present.

I'm looking very much forward to the conference.

Thanks,

J

To answer the questions that have been asked:

1) If you are submitting a print assume (in the event you are a winner) that the print you submit will be the print that goes on exhibit in the show.

2) If you submit a digital file the file size we are requiring is specifically targeted to produce a high quality print (300dpi and 7200 pixels on the longest side as a maximum) that will equal in size the largest prints submitted. We do reserve the right to ask those artists who submit fully digitally to send a print of their file. However, we don't anticipate that we will be required to do that as we have the equipment and skilled printers available to produce the final digital prints.

3) I hate to keep you in suspense about the judges but we want to make the announcement all at once. There will be two judges. One has committed and one is still checking their schedule. One will be from the museum/academic world and one from the commercial/professional world.

Do you have to attend the conference to enter?

OK, drum roll .....

We have both judges selected and confirmed. Sean will post their biographical details on the website in the next few days but neither should be a stranger to most. They are:

Michelle Dunn Marsh of the Aperture Foundation
Anne Wilkes Tucker of the Houston Museum of Fine Arts
