Default House Calls wins Gemini Award

I would like to announce this CBC documentary won the prestigious Donald Brittian Award for Best Social/Political Documentary Program at the 21st Gemini Awards Gala last night in Vancouver.
More info on the documentary can be seen at www.cbc.ca/toronto/features/kda/
This movie follows my good friend Dr Mark*a fellow appuger* on his daily rounds doing house calls with the frail and elderly.
Mark has been lugging a Linhoff and lighting gear with him for over 8 years photographing a hidden problem, regarding the inability of our Elders to get decent help in their homes when they most need it.
The movie opens with a very dramatic scene of my hands dodging a print of Connie as well as developing out an image. Why I did not win a Gemini for a supporting role is beyond belief.
We are very proud of Mark here at Elevator and wish him great success with his ongoing project. It truly is an amazing photographic journey using a very traditional photographic style.
Our hope is to eventually do a large traveling exhibit when it is all said and done.
Way to go Mark.

Hollywood is reputed to be brutal to those hard working supporting actors, Bob. This just proves it.

This sounds like an amazing project, on many levels. Congrats to Dr. Mark! The traveling exhibit sounds like a great idea.
