Default Happy Thanksgiving to all my Northern Friends

Hello fellow APUGers

I am about to leave for the weekend to take some photos and enjoy the Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend at a School House with Laura Barney and Lucy. I am looking forward to the fresh air, beautiful colours of our landscape and some good food and ale.
Enjoy this weekend , load up on the turkey, as we know the cold air is about to hit us and soon we will need our Parkas ,so enjoy while we can.

Wow, it seemed a bit early for a Canadian Thanksgiving wish until I read that Bob was getting a bit of a head start.

I'll be down in Tucson on Canadian Thanksgiving (which is the US Columbus Day holiday) helping my Canadian friends move into their new condo!

Go figure.

Anyway, to all of our good friends Up North (with the parity - or maybe even parity+ dollar) have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Default Too warm for Thanksgiving!

I associate this weekend with putting on a big wool sweater and going for a walk with the family to aid digestion after downing a big load of turkey. Usually there is a fair bit of the kids, shod in rubber boots kicking at wet fallen leaves.

This weekend in my part of the country the weather is called for being more suited to t-shirt weather, with some late day showers later in the weekened due to humidity build up.

Guess it's to do with all that good old global warming. Of course my family of four is all loading into the car to go 150km to go my moms for the bird, so we too are part of that problem.

Come west, it was pretty frosty this morning. The leaves are in full colour and I expect that most will be on the ground by Monday.

Looks like it's going to be a great weekend weather wise... of course I'll be eating turkey not shooting.
In fact it starts today with a staff turkey lunch at work.

Here in Northern Ontario, it is supposed to be rainy on Saturday and Monday with sunshine on Sunday. But unseasonably warm.
Not to worry about weather though; kids coming home from college and university and southern jobs. Should be a great weekend to give thanks.
And get ready for the provincial election and referendum on Wednesday. I suspect the range of political opinions of my kids will make for a lively turkey dinner.

We'll have our traditional turkey dinner on Sunday, which is predicted to be sunny and warm (+16c) for this time of year. Our 3 sons will all be in one place for the first time in months along with my sister and her husband. I'm looking forward to 3 days off work

Gobble gobble.....

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian APUGERS from the other side of the pond in the Scottish Borders. I'll raise a wee, even large, glass of the amber falling down nectar in your honour.
