Ok, no one was writing about it in the photography magazines and books I was reading at the time.

I'm not against FX-39, don't get me wrong. I may well give it a try. I just do really like my Jobo.

How does it compare with DD-X for tabular grain films?

Also hoping to see this available in Australia.

Kevin, Van Bar in Melbourne has Paterson FX-39 in stock. $15.40 for 500 ml.

Thanks, Barry, but their stock is very, very old. The ones in the red bottles have an expiry date around 2005!
They have not brought in any new stock for some time now. I've been mixing FX-37.

Thanks Kevin, good to know. It doesn't surprise me really. I've been disappointed so many times by Van Bar, availability of stock, price etc, but where else do you go in Australia? For several years now I've been using Freestyle, B&H, Photographer's Formulary etc. especially when the AU$ was strong.

    Barry, Kevin,

we do ship to Australia from Germany.
Shipping is a flat 29 EUR no matter how much you buy.
I`m afraid Vanbar won´t be to keen on restocking it if they still have some around from 2005...

I like FX-39 quite a bit, and since the Paterson product was not available in the US, it is now exciting to have this fine developer available to me.

Thanks, Mirko! Any idea when Freestyle will stock it? I was just on their web site and don't see it yet.
