    Excellent

I realised by the .co.uk address for your publisher when I look again.

This is brilliant I literally can't wait to get hold of it. It'll be nice to not have to spend £100s

The landscape for ebook technology is rapidly changing, for precisely the reasons you cite Ralph. Specifically, Ray Kurzweil will introduce a new ebook platform at CES next week. Likewise, Apple is widely anticipated to enter the ebook arena in early 2010.

All that aside, I'll definitely be queued up with a bunch of other APUG folks for the print edition release. Thanks for the updates!

Counting down the days. Half.com has a seller with a copy listed at $1,186.45! I'm going to subscribe to this thread just in case I forget.

How big will the second edition run be compared to the first?

Sorry, I don't understand this question. Are you talking about size, weight, price?

I meant the number of copies printed or planned to be printed in the press run. The reason I'm asking is I am curious if the plan is to print more copies this time considering the demand for the first edition exceeded supply. I do realize you aren't the publisher!

I really don't know. 4,000 copies were printed for the 1st edition. I was surprised to see so many sold in a few years. The publisher predicted it. We are glad to have this guy. He took the book on in the middel of the 'digital revolution', when others thought we were nuts to even propose it. He gives us a lot of freedom, and doesn't limit us on content or page count. Other authors are not that lucky. He is also determined to keep or raise the print quality. This edition will be hardcover and what he calls 'museum' quality.

    Ralph,

In the locality, apart from my copy, I know of 3 others in two libraries in town; or 0.1% of the print run.

Technology is not a panacea. It alone will not move your art forward. Only through developing your own aesthetic - free from the tools that create it - can you find new dimension to your work.
