Long Tele on 6x17 - Just showing off a bit

Just wanted to show off the results of our latest technical effort. What you're looking at is a very special Cone Assembly commissioned by David Jenkins of Australia. David wanted to use his Nikon T360/500/720 on our 617 camera. By changing the Spacer and rear lens group alone, David will have perfect infinity focus with all three configurations, and with no need to re-calibrate the HFM. Of course this is a Ground Glass use only item, as Viewfinder Masks would be of little value. Needless to say, we are looking forward to seeing some of David's upcoming 617 format work with these really, really long lenses.

Just out of curiosity, what would be the 35mm equivalent of the Nikon T360/500/720 combination on the 6x17 format?

Looks like some very nice work - well done. Where in Australia is David based?

180mm is "normal" for 6x17. So for the extent you can compare 360 would be 86mm in 35mm. 720mm 176mm. 500mm in between.

Sanjay... giving an equivalent to 35mm requires both the horizontal and vertical equivalents, due to the large difference in aspect ratio;

617 FL = 35mm H V
360 = 77 155
500 = 107 214
720 = 154 305

Kevin... David is based in New South Wales. His website is www.nomadphoto.com.au
