Street shooting in countryside
Dear street shooters,
Would like to know if some of you (like me) lives in campaign.
It seems harder for me to find good street shot in my campaign just because there are not too much people out there !
So if you have some campaign street shot just share it
All the best
Rom

Hello Rom,
I think you should use the word "countryside" instead of "campaign".
-
You don't need many people to make a street shot. One is enough. Sometimes none is necessary. But it is of course much harder to melt into the background when there are only few people around.
Go to a place where people usually spend some time. Around a shop for example.

Thanks for your advise
I have change the title for countryside. Sorry for my english, still need improvements !

All you need for street-shooting are people... and a street! It doesn't matter where you are.

Dear all,
I have been following your advices..
And so i begin street shooting. Let's how it will turn, i hope to improve on it.
Here is a try from last week.

For the story it was a sunday afternoon at Perouges, France. During a very small but pleasant local wine exhibition.
Can we call that street ?

Hi Rom,
I enjoy the second photo more than the first, because it is ambiguous whether the man is arguing with the grown up or with the baby. It certainly can be called street photography. The most important, thought, is not that you follow a certain genre, but that you follow your instinct.

Dear Erik,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Indeed, i try to shoot what i feel. but it's true that i can be under the influence of a genre.
The fact is i have seen a lot of photographs, on books and on the www. But, my culture is not so big and i can't identify it and i am young, this is also a reason of the need of reference.
I mean that i think that we are all influenced by ourself, by our memory.
When you have seen my photo, did you think about a certain genre ?
Hope i am understandable because my english is sometimes not very well..

Rom, your English is good enough as far as I can judge.
I'd call this street. Could be reportage photo as well, if the photos were shot in the context of a reportage.
-
I've been doing this in the small, small town I live in for several years now. Its downtown area is rundown and loveable, in its own way.

Whether you call it street, reportage, documentary -- whatever the name, I think it's best to just think of making photographs. Images that are important to you, and represent a place or time.
