Ok, Let me elaborate a little on my previous statement.
I like Fuji Film, The quality and consistency is as good as Kodak's products and that is as good as it get's.
If the Board of Directors at Fuji Japan was seriously interested in the US market for analog products they need to take a serious look at the marketing department at Fujifilm.com
10 sheet boxes of 4x5 Acros sheet film and nothing larger is not really a serious campaign to promote a Fuji product in the worlds largest market for sheet film.

    Why was http://choose-film.com/wp-register.php
Registered in England and not in a far larger economy as the US where it would have had a lot more potential for an impact on film sales?

With a dwindling number of quality sheet film products Fuji could make a serious impact if it wanted.

Anyone from Fuji care to coment?
    Thanks.

Fuji won't comment but privately I can say that. . .

I talked to Fuji and asked them to stay away so Kodak could take a little longer to die off.
    :o

It's taken some time but I'm finally getting the message that I'm just along for the ride, the photo companies are going to do what they want, with plans formulated in smoke filled rooms with groups of bell heads. Sometimes I think they wouldn't know a Rapax from a Rats*ss.

I think Henry Ford said it best, "You can have any color you want, as long as it's black".

It would be the shock of the new Century if a film manufacturer would come out and tell the people who buy their products what the *ell is going on.

OMG I had a flashback, all of a sudden I was back at work guessing what will happen next! So there I was feeling like a mushroom, you about mushrooms don't you? Kept in the dark and fed ****.

I talked with the Fuji pro sales manager to find out if QL was really discontinued, or just delayed for some reason. She informed me it truly was cancelled, as they only sold 2500 boxes last year in the US. She said the new 10 sheet boxes have been shipped out and should be at the dealers by now. I have found them now at Freestyle and Badger. She also said the price would be competitive with tmax, but at $17 for 10 sheets it sure isn't. I love the film, but without QL and at a higher price I may not use it as much as I otherwise would. Fuji is thinking they will sell more film this way, but I am betting the opposite is true. Maybe B&H will price it closer to $1 a sheet, and then it's an easier choice.

I try to promote places that still sell film as much as possible. The larger the profit the more likely any company will continue with it. That's the sad truth. If they had a goal of lets say 8% but only made 5% it may not be worth it to the company. If ONLY these companies looked at the recent history of other recording medias (vinyl records) they will see a trend that is starting to happen within the photographic world and will continue to grow. Alas, I have faith that companies do not remember the past and will end up shooting themselves in the feet. WE NEED TO SHOW THEIR IS A DEMAND FOR FILM. It shouldn't be an either or world. We should have access to both, they're just two different mediums like oils and acrylics.
