    I sort of felt that way about the CPE II I had long ago, but even it held up surprisingly well to the load I was putting on it. The better models are pretty sturdy, reliable, and durable. I guess the lift arm itself is a very weak point, but I've just worked without that for 10 years or more now.

    The arm is pretty wimpy. One tug on it and I wonder if anyone (or at least anyone in their right mind) ever lifts even a light tank solely by the lift arm. I lift up on the lift arm with one hand and then raise the bed under the tank with the other hand. So far so good - and mine came with an extra arm, though I'm not sure that's the part that would break.
