    AGFA APX 100 film

I was given several rolls of AGFA APX 35mm 100 speed film a few years ago. The expiration date is 07/2006. Does anyone know how long past the date this film can still be used?
It has been kept in a box in a closet all this time and forgotten about. It hasn't been exposed to extreme heat or cold as long as I've had it.

    Thanks

    Frank

b/w film actually last quite a while dependng on how it was stored. If it was in a fridge or, better yet, frozen, it should be fine. Try a roll and see. For only 6 years, expect to be pleased.

I had some outdated Agfa APX 100 120 and tried it in Rodinal 1+50 for 13 mins. rating the film down a little to 80 ASA - the negs scanned OK for 'Forum' use but were 'Thin' for darkroom printing . Next time I am rating it at 64 ASA and give 14 mins.

I have a 100 foot roll that expired about ten years ago but was kept refrigerated. It's as good as new and shoots at full speed. Not having kept yours refrigerated, you may want to test at 100ASA and some lower speeds -say 80, 64, and 50 as well. It's likely still to be very useable.
