Is Jack's Photographic and Chemistry site dead?

    I can't get access to http://www.jackspcs.com

Does anyone know if it's down for good?

It's still registered and it's name server is providing a IP number. So I'd think the webserver is down.

It's either the provider or the connection in between. It's up. It's down. It's up. If it's up it's slow some times.

There is something wrong. The site is being hosted by UUNET/MCI or whoever they are these days.

In this environment I would imagine his site is sitting on a shared server so should respond to a ping request - nada. The response from a WHOIS on the domain comes back with the error message "there is no match ofr jackpcs.com. But the DNS does resolve to that address.
I will try sending an email to the tech support contact listed on the IP Block owner and see if they will let me know whats up.
