Thanks Richard, that's great to know. Looks like I'll just have to burn through it at a faster rate than normal. Challenge accepted!

I obviously haven't been paying close enough attention, but has MGIV been discontinued or are these two new papers just added to the existing lineup?

Also, is there any difference in the base color between Warm, Classic, and Cooltone papers?

MG Classic replaces MGIV. MGIV is discontinued.

The base colour of Classic appears to be the same as MGIV. I haven't tested Cooltone yet.

Apparently (according to Tim Rudman) MG Classic does not lith but will respond to "second pass lith". Not sure about Cooltone.

Just an update. I ordered 50 shts of 11x14 Classic after trying a trial run of 8x10. I always felt MGIV was too generic, too cool, and not the sharpest. Classic is an improvement. One surprise not reported frequently is dry down is absolutely minimal.

In an earlier post I mentioned concern with shelf life. Under recommended storage conditions Ilford reports three years.

Got through 4 boxes of Classic, love it. Put an order in before Christmas but still waiting as it's not available in the UK and nobody seems to no why. Please Ilford let me have the paper I've paid for.
    Cheers J.
I prefer it in the dark.
