I just go down the street to the local camera store, oh sorry, that was the way it used to be. I miss that time; actually I get mine from Freestyle, but there is B&H.
Everytime I find a film or paper that I like, they discontinue it. - Paul Strand - Aperture monograph on Strand

I try my very best to support the local photo stores by buying film from them, and if I know I need a certain film for a large project I normally buy from online stores. Nothing from evil-bay though because after shipping and insurance costs the item almost always cost higher if it's something new and not used.
Support your local mom and pop photographic stores!

Sorry Matt, I should update my profile.
I am located in the Los Angeles, CA area!
Film guy, I haven't looked for a mom and pops photo shop, but I'm sure they are hard to find these days. If I can find one that is close enough and offers films and other items at reasonable prices, I would not mind supporting them!

Does your city have a pro lab? I know some pro labs in bigger cities sell film at a pretty reasonable cost, sometimes even lower than a large photo store.

My local pro lab, I use mainly Fuji NPS pro, Astia or Velvia 100, and I know they have a big turnover of film and keep it refrigerated.

I'm ordering a batch of Fomapan & chemicals once or twice a year from Fotoimpex, Berlin. Tri-X and slide film I'm buying from a local shop in Helsinki. Mostly shooting 35 mm film.

They pretty much cover most of my B&W needs.
I also use:
http://www.silverprint.co.uk/
Who are also pretty good especially if I need Rodinal, or colour film
