I once worked for a wire service that sent photos by radio and telephone lines to newspapers and other clients all over the world. Sort of our own mini-Internet. Anyway, the network was run by a guy in New York City and he kept bugging a dude in Seattle about when a photo of a major league ball game would be ready to transmit. After being told "five minutes" several times he was finally told there would be no pictures that night. Asked what happend, the dude in Seattle said, "the door fell off the darkroom."
I have been wondering for more than 50 years what really happened that night in Seattle.
