    Who makes this stuff?

Ultrafine/Photo Warehouse (Los Angeles) is offering house brand B&W films in both 120 and 35mm size at very attractive prices. For instance, the 120 in 100 speed goes for $2.09 a roll. Here's what they say about it: "New Ultrafine Plus films combine over a half century of cutting edge technology applied to the latest state-of-the-art film base, to create a fine grain film that is destined to become an instant classic. Available in 100 and 400 ISO, these emulsions are the finest on the market. We are introducing the 35mm and 120, with a full line of sheet film to follow."

Does anyone have a clue about who the manufacturer is? The promised introduction of sheet films suggests it is an active manufacturer, not repackaging remaining stock from Agfa.

I will likely try some anyway, but I can't help being curious about its origin.

A discussion at http://photo.net/black-and-white-pho...g-forum/00WGo3 concluded that it's probably Lucky.

The lady of the house has to be a pretty swell sort of person to put up with the annoyance of a photographer.

I wonder what they would say if you asked them, unofficially?

If it is Lucky, that seems a quite high to me, with something as good as Fuji Acros at $2.69 a roll at B&H, and not much more at Freestyle. I would not pay a quarter of what they are asking if it is Lucky film.

Lucky film is better than it first looks.

On the untrafine site the pictures of the film show it (in 35mm) in a very clear film can, which is similar to that used by both Lucky and era.
