    Doing the clip test
What fixer and dilution did you use?
If the developer produced any change the fixer should not have made it clear.
D-76 is a standard developer, although not one I use.

Usually in cases of developer death, there is at least something on the film however faint. Are you sure there is absolutely nothing there?

If I look very carefully, I see borders of fields (is it correct word ?)

If your R09 crystalizes you can try putting it in a pan of warm water and periodically shaking it. However, if you have already removed some of the liquid and used it then the composition of the remaining liquid has changed and it should be discarded. This is a problem with water based highly concentrated developers. You have to keep them near room temperature. HC-110 does not have this problem since it contains no water and there is nothing to crystalize out. If you buy more R09 I would recommend transfering it to a glass bottle. Unless they have changed the container in which it is supplied since I last bought it the plastic used allows oxygen to get in. Agfa used a special composite plastic bottle which did not have this problem.
