WTB: 16mm developing reel
If you have some reel to process 16mm or 110 film I might be interested.

In the absence of a reel, we used to tape the film, emulsion side out, on a metal orange juice can and soup the film in a ss tank.

Those definitely show up on that big auction site from time to time. You basically have to just search on "Nikor" and wade through all the results though, since a lot of sellers don't know what they have, and you just have to spot it. It's a slightly goofy looking reel, with the classic spiral wires only on one side, and just radiating arms on the other, with a little lip at the edge to keep it from falling out.

+1 to the emulsion side out technique. You could also make your own small tank, my 16mm 100' tank design is 2 pvc pipes, with a 1cm diameter difference between the outer diameter of the inside pipe, and inner diameter of the outside pipe, you could make a small version of something like that.
In case you cant find a suitable reel:
A 10cm diamter inner pipe, thats 7.2cm tall for the developing area, would fit a normal ~111mm length of 110 film, wrapped in gaffer tape with a 2mm wide spiral guide cut out (approx 4 revolutions) to stop any slip.
With a outer pipe of approx 11cm inner diameter, that'd take 120ml of developing solution.

Indeed. Things like this work just fine! I used PVC pipe, not an instant OJ can. Now, I have some reels, thanks to A.P.U.G. I have 8 of them, brand new in the original boxes, and I paid $13 a piece, just so you know what sort of expenditure you are looking at.
