    Hello Francesco,

are the Bronica S2A backs compatible with SQ-A/SQ-Ai backs? If so, I have one for sale, brand new.

    Regards,

    Jordi

The S2a backs are not compatible with the later SQ-series.

    Ditto David's response. Not compatible.

    David,
Do you know if the S2A Polaroid back works with the Type II bellows attached? Thanks.

Yes, of course. The S2a Type II bellows is compatible with the Polaroid back.

My concern was that the rails of the Type II bellows would protrude and prevent the use of the Polaroid back. I've had some tell me that it works and some say that it doesn't. Ugh!

I owned both, and I don't recall ever having that problem. Maybe with wide lenses or subjects at infinity, but if I was shooting Polaroid on the S2a with the Type II bellows, it was more likely with a longer lens for some tabletop/macro/portrait use, so it's possible that I never encountered that situation. I've sold the camera, so I can't test it out, but looking at my photos of the bellows, there are two screws under the front standard, and I think you could use those to set the standard back, if the rails were bumping against the Polaroid back.
