    FS: T.H. McAllister Lantern Lens

FS: Beautiful Petzval lantern lens by T.H. McAllister. Nickel plated barrel; glass clean and in good condition. No flange, but the original leather lens cap is included and in very nice shape. Focal length around 11 or 12 inches inches which would make it about an ƒ/8. Construction possibly by Darlot for McAllister, but I have no proof of that. $225, domestic (U.S.) shipping included. $15 discount for international shipping.

CORRECTION: The flange focal length is right at 5 3/8" which would make it about an ƒ/3.6. That sounds more like it. Too many lenses; too few brain cells. Sorry for the previous misinformation.

Someone asked about the focal length, specifically the distance from the image plane to a point halfway between the cells. At infinity focus this measures 6 inches.
