FS: Nikon FM2n black really cheap plus Nikon FM deal
For anyone who is capable of repairing the FM2n, here is what I consider to be an exceptionally cheap deal. Or, you could pay to have it repaired and probably still be ahead of the game.
First---you get a black Nikon FM2n. Serial number is N7712387. The good news? It is all there and unmolested. There are nicks and dings, but it is easily salvageable. It has the late model high-strength aluminum shutter and not the early honeycombed one. The shutter works but two of the second curtain blades are bent slightly. As the camera is right now, this shutter works even at 1/4000 speed without hanging up nor malfunctioning. Could the blades be straightened without removing the shutter? Possibly, but you will have a better option. Before Nikon ceased selling film camera parts, I bought the entire assembly of blades for the second curtain and will send them along with this deal. The important message here is that your repairman could not purchase this repair part from Nikon and neither could you. You can purchase a Nikon FM2 shutter complete on eBay for about $100, however I don't know where you could find an FM2n shutter or any more blades for it. I have not seen one, and you should be careful if buying one to be sure the part number is correct or you'll just have overpaid for an FM2 shutter which will not flash synch at 1/250. The other bad news? While the shutter is being repaired, there is a problem with the meter which needs to be solved. The meter tries to work, but is not accurate. This is not usually a complicated fix. There is an indention to the prism top plate, but it could be straightened while the plate was off. The focus screen is missing, but you can find these fairly inexpensively on eBay or via various forums.
Now, you not only get the FM2n, but you also get:
A black Nikon FM. The shutter fails to cock completely, but it does not appear to be damaged. As for the meter, I don't know if it works or not. I believe I remember it working ok. The only missing part is the rewind knob. Body is in decent condition.
A chrome Nikon FM. The shutter fails to latch when cocked. Also does not appear to be damaged. Meter does work. Not missing any parts. Body is in decent condition with some scuffing of the bottom plate.
So, if you are capable of repairing these, you could spend a couple of winter nights with a project. Or you could have them repaired and sell one of the FM cameras (or both if the repairman has a spare rewind knob and is able to repair both cameras). Many options.
$60 plus actual postage for the entire group of 3 cameras and the Nikon shutter blade set.
PayPal ok for international sales but check/cash/money order for US please.
If questions, please ask.
I think you should color these gone...as in sold...as in on their way to a new adventure.
