Any decent 200 colour negative film around ?

apart from pushing Ektar 100 or Reala 100

the Kodak 200 Elite Prof film is gone (if it indeed was a 200 film..)


or should I be hapy with the 400 (portrait..) films by Kodak and Fuji ??

or resolve to TRansparancy ?

I enjoy both the Kodak and Fuji 200 speed films currently in production. The Superia is a bit easier to scan, for me at least.

I really like the Superia 200. If I was still shooting any color film, that's what I would use.

the fuji 200 is decent but when you factor in the price its very good. kodak gold is ok also but seems pretty muted compared to the fuji. if you are in the US get some and try it out and judge for yourself they are both cheap. walmart has the fuji 200 in a 4 pack for $6.89 and target has the kodak 200 in a 4 pack for about $8

Just shoot portra 400 @ 200 and develop normal.

Both Kodak Gold 200 and Fuji Superia 200 are good films as well. Fuji is a bit more saturated than Kodak but they are both good films. I use a lot of Kodak Gold 200 in stormy weather like rain or snow and love the pastel results. With the right lighting the images can look almost like paintings right out of the camera. I have some Fuji 200 but don't use it as much because I usually shoot chromes if I want saturated.

Personally, I'd just shoot Portra 400 at 200 ISO too, probably won't tell the difference except maybe slightly better shadows I'd expect. Same for Fujifilm 400H, I shoot that without a meter, always seems to turn out great.

Should have mentioned I meant Pro films, but it's good to know that Superia 200 is also a good choice (apart from much cheaper...).


Anyone else like to commend ?
