Agfachrome Speed BR312 dye diffusion paper

I've been given some of this paper and want to use it in-camera. I have the data sheet from the pack but require some more info.

The exposure time given in the datasheet is for a diffusion enlarger and says to give it 5 to 20 seconds. No aperture info is given. It suggests reciprocity will need colour filter adjustment.

The person who gave me it informed me that the ACS Activator N solution is nothing more than dilute Sodium Hydroxide. I'm unable to find any MSDS to confirm this.

Can anyone please advise:

• What would be a likely exposure time for full sun at f/16; and
• If the Activator N solution is just NaOH and suggest a suitable dilution?

IIRC, they had a negative and a positive material and they were about the same speed as the respective chromogenic products. Kodak sold an Ektaflex material in neg and pos at the same time. This was in the 80s. I don't know when Agfa stopped making their product.

The activator that Kodak sold, worked with Agfa materials, but it was not plain KOH, it had other ingredients such as antifoggants.

If it is very old and is the reversal material, it is probably shot. If negative, it may still be good.

With proper filtration, the camera speed was about ISO 12 - 25.

Agfa also had a product called CopyColor, which was intended to be used in a process camera. It worked on a diffusion process to go along with their very successful CopyProof line of graphic arts products. I Have a CopyColor (Durst) enlarger. The chemistry might be compatable if you can find someone who has some. Either way it isn't going to be easy, as CopyColor took off like a lead balloon!

I still have some Ektaflex film and paper in the freezer - is there any way to make your own activator that would work with these materials
