Mixing C41 components from different kits

Thanks everyone, that makes it very clear. I can substitute a whole step but not mix steps from two different kits or substitute components of the steps.

Sometimes you'll need to make changes when substituting an entire step too.

Eg; if you choose to use or experiment with an alternative like ferricyanide or copper sulphate for a bleach (or any non-C41 bleach iirc), you will want to do a stop, then rinse after development. And a sulphite or metabisulphite bath after rinsing after the bleach step (non-C41 commercial bleaches shouldn't need the clearing bath iirc), then rinsing well again.
