Pin-registration Negative Carriet for Omega F

I am thinking of retrofitting my 10x10 Omegat F enlarger (head) with a pin-registration system (to register negative to carrier and carrier to head).

    Can anyone recommend a source?

    Thanks in advance.

Apparently Inglis does not provide what you wanted or some other problem has arisen. This is what I did with my Saunders 4550XLG VCCE. I assume something very similar could be accomplished with any enlarger.

I designed my pin registration system and then had a local machine shop do the actual machine work.

My system involves a film punch, a negative carrier that has pins corresponding to the film punch spacing, a modified enlarger negative stage with a manually operated movable top that cinches the negative carrier against a fixed stop.

The machine work was fairly costly (above $1,000) since this was a "one off" manufacturing job and set up costs become expensive.

    Thnak You, Donald

Thank you for your reply. Inglis does not make an 8x10 pin-registration system but Alistair <Inglis> has indicated he is willing to giver me a quote on one, once I send him drawings and photographs of my enlarger. I was looking for an alternate source, should he decide he is not interested in doing the job, once he receives my material, or should his price be such that I cannot afford it.

Durst Pro USA, on their website, listed a pin registration system the last time I checked. It appeared to be reminiscent of the now deceased Condit system. I am not sure how adaptable that would be to your application since they do not sell Omega enlargers. As with most things named Durst the cost is probably fairly substantial.

At any rate, it may be worth checking with them.

Lynn Radeka also has a magentic design for negative carrier indexing into the enlarger negative stage. I am not sure how precise his system is. His system seems to be for 4X5 enlargers. Possibly he may be another source to check.

Good luck. Masking does provide an increased means for creative expression at the printing stage.
