Please take a look at this thread

    http://www.apug.org/forums/forum43/27273-its-mystery-enlarger-chassis-challenge.html

and try to help me identify this enlarger. It's far too good to let go to waste for the sake of a head. If all else fails I'll investigate modifying it to accept a Devere.

Can anyone confirm if it is a "George Elliot" enlarger, as suggested by Barry WIlkinson and if so is there any info out there on them? My googles have not been of any use.

    Thanks

I can see where your coming from, but there's a lot of cast aluminium in the construction. That strikes me as an expensive way to produce a 1 off.

Totaly within any one or two peoples abilities. Foundry
work in aluminium is an easy home enterprise. Some
spend time in the shop like some spend time in the
darkroom. Perhaps that unit is one of several.
    Perhaps it's a prototype.

To sleuth start from where it is now and trace back.
Where is it now? Where did it come from? Who has
    been carting it about? Dan
