This is the link to another useful Kodak publication - Black-and-White Tips and Techniques for Darkroom Enthusiasts - which can be found through their website:

    http://www.kodak.com/global/en/profe...Pubs/o3/o3.pdf

Here is another, more general link to their publication databank:

    http://www.kodak.com/global/en/profe...ankIndex.jhtml

One caution though - links to the Kodak websites seem to adjust themselves depending on where you are based (in Canada, I'm often re-directed to the Canadian site), so sometimes you don't get where you expect to be.

You are correct. The book is out of print, but I don't think that eliminates Kodak's copyright. I don't even know if they would care, but you might put yourself at risk while trying to help others. That would be sad.

You might consider asking Kodak - they might be willing to put it up for web distribution themselves.

That is the safest way. Here in Europe (mostly young) lawyers play a strange 'game' at the moment. They go through the web, looking for copyright violations. When they find a potential candidate, they contact the 'culprit', notify him or her of the violation and ask for the material in question to be removed, along with a request to reimburse them for their services. Strangely enough, their doing seems to be within legal limits of most countries. Apparently, eBay, popular bulletin boards and privat home pages are their main target. Let's not give them an opportunity and respect the copyright laws.

Do we now for sure that Kodak has not posted this publication already?

I sent email to Kodak and the following is what I got. I am not sure that it's safe enough.

    Dear Dia Chan Tran,

As long as you aren't selling it, I can't see why this would be a problem.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Sincerely,

    Dear Peter,
Since I can't find any copy of the book for sale, I am wondering if I can scan my copy and give to my friend? I do understand that Kodak owns the copyright of the book.
    Sincerely,
    Dia Chan Tran

    Dear Dian,

I am sorry to say that this book was discontinued many years ago and is no longer available from Kodak. You might do some checking online to see if anyone might be willing to part with their copy.

Please let us know if you have additional questions on Kodak Professional products.

    Sincerely,

    Peter V.

Question: I have the book "Quality Enlarging with Kodak B/W Papers" written by W. Arthur Young and was published by Kodak. I had it since the early 80's and it has been a very useful book for my darkroom work. A number of my photographer friends would like to purchase a copy of the book, either in print or in electronic form. I wonder if Kodak still sells this book or has it on your website somewhere.
    Best Regards,
    Dia Chan Tran
