Fujimoto G70 enlarger

I just spent my first session colour printing with a Fujimoto G70 colour enlarger and much to my suprise I have managed a reasonable print lol. However there are one or two points I am unsure of and would like help with if possible.

1. I used the standard test strip method of determining the exposure because the densomiter on the enlarger seems way off; giving an exposure of about three times what is required.

2. There are three control knobs and a small lever on the base which are covered with a removable plastic cover. The lever is labelled LP and NP and U have no idea what this does. The three knobs are labelled Y M and D. I assume the first two are for the filtration and adjusting them causes the filter indicator lamps on the side of the enlarger to change, I think the knob marked D is for the density and is for calibrating the densometer but turning it seems to have little effect. The dial in filtration is on the head and I am okay with that control.

3. I am using a Paterson Orbital Processor but have noticed that if I mix up about 200ml of developer and process my test strips in the mix the colour and development deteriorates for each one. Of course I can use the 55ml recommended and use it as a one shot developer process but if I have to do a lot of test strips to get the print right it would work out expensive.

Finally if there is anyone out there who has an instruction manuel for the Fujimoto G70 I would glady purchase it from them or a copy..

Hello, I have a Fujimoto G70 manual somewhere, If you email me at wustyscrews@aol.com I will see if I can scan the manual and email the pages to you. Oldtimer cameras in the UK will have a photocopied manual to sell you if you want to buy one. If I remember correctly there is a manual for the enlarger without the computer in the baseboard and a manual just for the computer. I have the enlarger in my darkroom gathering dust, I'm sure if my Durst ac707 ever breaks I may have to use it. Pity the Fujimoto does not have a glass neg. holder it would be right up there with the best. I will start looking for what I have and with luck I should have something for you soon, good luck bogeyes

Thanks for manual for the enlarger, it came today. I may have some idea of what I am doing now lol.

Oh, man. I just bought a Fujimoto G70 off a guy on Ebay. I don't have the manual either, and I don't have a clue how to work all the little bits on it. I mean, I'm familiar with a basic enlarger, but this has all sorts of crazy stuff on it that I don't understand. Can anyone help me out?

I have happily used my G70 for both B/W and colour printing for some time, but I want to sell it soon. (Moving house)

I'd really like to provide a purchaser with a manual but I've only got a general spec sheet for a VR-70. I've not needed more, but a buyer might, and in any case, it's reassuring to get a complete package rather than a piece of kit with no manual.

If anyone can help me with this I'd be very grateful.

I don't want to presume that the member to who has kindly done this already has the time to repeat the process for a newbie to this forum. Also, being a new member to this forum, I'm not sure how members exchange such information.

Anyone care to help me over this please?
