source for Focomat negative carrier.
I got a Focomat v 35 off ebay. It came with a negative carrier for slides. I suspect I can use it by simply sliding b/w film strips thru a slide holder, i.e the cardboard and make out ok.
Would rather have the holder designed for film strips, however.
googling was not particularly productive. Anybody have a good source?

Like this? (link points to a Focomat 35mm carrier on ebay) http://cgi.ebay.com/Leitz-Leica-Vint...#ht_500wt_1156

I'm always astonished at the number of Leitz enlargers that go missing the negative carrier. I can see needing a carrier in a Beseler/Omega 4x5 where the enlargers are used for a half-dozen negative sizes (and carriers are readily available) but a V35 only does 35mm - or do hordes use them for 126 and 16mm?

That ebay auction is for a 1c
The v35 holder is hinged. Try giving Leica USA a call - they might still carry them new (for a king's ransom I'm sure)

V 35 Holder
Leitz does offer them, one without glass and one with. $172 and $286 respectively.
I can hope for other sources, or just use the slide holder for a while. Depends on the results.
then again, might get lucky.

results will not come close to what the enlarger is capable of delivering. Cardboard slide mounts do not hold the glass flat enough.

Ok, I gave up and ordered the expensive one.
