residual hypo test for split toned prints?

    Hi all,

I just ordered my first kit from Formulary for residual hypo testing on silver prints and was wondering if there was such a thing for selenium / sepia toned prints. But with the print being toned, would that work?

(I hope this was the right forum for this)

    Thanks,
    Dorothy

It would work, but be more of a waste of time. Toning with Selenium and Sulphide/Thiourea (sepa) is beneficial to the archival permanence.

Depending on the type of Sepia toner used any residual hypo would be deleterious to the image during toning anywa, assuming a bleach bath is used.
