We are between intelligent men ! no ?

We speak about Autochrome first. The subject was at the beginning about the latex.

    Hello everybody,

I don't know if someone have already put this video on the forum...i will be surprised that it's "no"....but i put it if it's no.
Preparation of a autochrome by Bertrand Lavedrine :

If you never seen it, you will have a good moment.

I received my rubber cement today...it's looks good. I will see if the mix Heptane/ toluène will be good.

Hmm, I can't download the necessary plug-in for some reason. I'd really like to see it though!

Excited to hear about your results with rubber cement. How exactly will you use it, pray tell?

    Cheers!

I saw it several months ago...
until you fix your problem I can give you the HAIKU version:

Mixed starch into water in a big (ca. 3000 - 5000ml) beaker.
    Filter (under suction)
    Dry in lab autoclave
    Mix portions with dyes
    Mix dyed portions

    Coat glass plate:
pour on and spread a thin, colorless clear liquid (presumably a tacky varnish)

    Brush tacky surface with pigments
Top off with a brushing of carbon black
Insert plate into very nice microscope

Be amazed at the beautiful colors (the dyed starch granules)
    displayed on the monitor

The entire show was qualitative... nothing was measured.
(Everything was done with two or three scoops.)

There is no narration for this show.
There is however another version with narration, IIRC.

    oh, not haiku but...
Carressing the quaint white ceramic tiles on the laboratory benchtop,
an invitingly warm sunlight Springs into Summer before Falling hopelessly into Winter.

    Hi everybody,

I'm sorry for you Holmburgers....the plugin is a real player plugin.

I have to prepare now the damar gun that i will put in this rubber cement. I don't know when , but now i have to buy ethyle acetate and toluène to prepare the damar gum...i have to find the money ...it will cost me about 40 euros for 1 liter each. And i have to find a filter for the wax of the damar gum.
    It miss me 3 things.

Yesterday i've made some tries just with this rubber cement on a glass, and i had put patatoe starch on it....the problem is that it i brush it immediatly and then the glue have made some heap.... not everywhere...It was wonderful to see in the microscope the places where patatoe starch were glued in a thin thickness.
I ask me a lot of question now...how long is the time before you can brush the patatoe starch...what must be the consistence of the glue...how long you have to wait before you can crush the glued patatoe starch....
It was the first try and it wasn't the final first varnish.

I hope you will found the good plug-in to see the video.

I'm silly...i have read the book and it is write that you have to wait that the first varnish dry...and after you can put the patatoe starch.

And i ask you the question :

How the patatoe starch stay on the 1rst varnish ?

    Because this varnish is sticky

And why this varnish is sticky ?

Thank you the damar gum !

The problem is that Mr Louis Lumière (he like to play with our nerves) write that you have to wait 6 months after having put the damar wax in the benzine ( i think that i will use toluène )
My first Autochome for this winter .

Whoa... 6 months! I hope Louis is toying with us... or a perfectionist at worst.

So are the damar gum & rubber cement mixed? Is this mixture the "varnish"? And then the starches are dusted/brushed on to this?

Hmm.. I need that plugin. This is great though, keep up the progress. You joined APUG and within 1 month you are already doing doing doing. You deserve a medal!

    Hello Holmburgers,

Yes, he was a perfectionnist (but you can read in the book that his banker said that he was a bad accountant )...you can read this page 351. 6 sentences before the end you can read : ......on laisse décanter 6 mois = we let settle during 6 months.

Yes damar gum and rubber cement are mixed. Yes it's the first varnish and yes after you put the patatoe starch on it.

Thank you for the medal ...but i just read the book
If i could only find the adapter for microscope i could put photos on the forum. It is wonderful to see this patatoe starch...i hope that i will have the possibility to colour the patatoe starch....if you find the plug-in you will see Mr B Lavédrine put the glass in the microscope and you will see the coloured patatoe starch. It's beautiful .
