You can see the spring in this picture: http://manuelsphoto.free.fr/lpl7700pronbp1.jpg
The spring is wound up at no. 19 and the free end should be hooked in and secured with a screw at no. 15.

That reproduction is a bit poor. To aid ath's comment, the spring is the silver metal band coiled on a spool, attached to enlarger head assembly just behind the column.

I can post photos of the spring on mine to this thread, if needed. Drop me a PM if that would be helpful and I'll do it later tonight.

    Congratulations, and happy printing!

Thanks Parker, that would be great!

Matt -- I am aware of KHB Photographic -- they came up on my search about the 7700 and I plan on getting a few things from them.

To everyone else -- head/column/spring issue fixed. Don't know how I missed hooking on the spring, but I did and (for) now all is well.

    Cheers!

I already have a manual for the C7700 scanned - Although the head is different, the construction will be the same, as will the description of the accessories. Words are in English as well

If you can wait until I get home, I'll email a copy over.
