    A completed auction with pictures that might give you an idea.

    Look at these things that appear to be top of coat-hangars... Seems a "question-mark" shaped steel hook would be able to weigh down a festoon of film without contacting more than just the edge. Maybe this is another option.

    Oh, maybe the loop is supposed to be at the top, so you would need two hooks at the bottom for every one hook needed at the top... explains the multitude of bottom hooks... And water marks from dripping go downhill, to the two ends where there's no images to ruin.

    I would think the 180 degree bend would remain in the film afterward.
