Hi,

I am thinking of getting one - can anyone comment on their use of this hopefully very handy gadget?

I have one and like it a lot. I have it permanently mounted on the ceiling over a counter and have tested for correct times. It is consistent and very easy to use-I think it is a terrific tool.

I have one and find it invaluable for contrasty negs. and dealing with over bright highlights. It makes getting a bit of tone in the white sky a lot easier without much effect on the overlapping dark tones. It is useful not just for flashing but for burning in locally (beyond flashing) with white light to get a bit more tone where the neg. is too dense. I wouldn't be without it.

I flash quite a lot but using a second enlarger. I was thinking of attaching one of these to the lens panel so I can fog within the masked area. Has anyone done this? seems a great little gadget

I use one attached to the swing-in diffuser on my Durst. It's very easy to selectively flash/fog whilst projecting the image (with the red safety filter in place) on the baseboard. In fact I tend to use it in this manner rather than flashing the whole image.

I love mine. I put a piece of velcro on the back, and the associated strips on the underside of each of my two enlargers. I used the "not horribly intense" velcro. That way I can use it on either enlarger. I have the foot switch for it as well, which I marked with tape so I call tell which is which (between the flasher & the timer).

The velcro 'solution' works quite nicely!

I would happily recommend it to anyone who is in the market

I too use Velcro to swap the Flashers head unit between my 2 enlargers - attaching the head unit near the lens panel

I don't have a foot switch with mine but hand hold the control box - sometimes with the control box in one hand and a masking tool in the other if I am selectively flashing only part of the paper
