Need help: Ilford Multigrade 500
Aaargh!!!
The power supply (500S) for my Multigrade head has just died. Does anyone know of either i) where to buy one, ii) anyone who repairs them in Europe (the closer to Norway the better as it weighs a fair bit, but the UK would be fine too), or iii) where to obtain wiring diagrams?
Please - I'm getting withdrawal symptoms already!
cheers

Hi Pete
I have a feeling all the manuals (including wiring diagrams?) for the various bits of the 500 can be found on the Ilford website.

Thanks Ian.
I just had a look and they are indeed.

http://www.odyssey-sales.com/ repaired mine a couple of years back. Cost best part of £300 if I remember correctly.

Hello Pete,
I also had problems with my power supply.
Check the fuse, and if the fuse is ok check if by fiddling around with the fuse-house (pushing it in his fuseguide) you can get the power back on.
Mine had a fault in the fuse-box/voltageselector.
With the wirediagram you can bypass the fusebox/voltageselector and put a new fuse in the line.
Greetings,
Thierry

Thanks Thierry. The first thing I did was to check the fuse (it's ok), but I have wondered about the voltage selector. I'll take a look at it.

Hi Pete,
I remember vaguely about a problem with fragile cabling in the 500 power supplies. It might be worth attacking it with a multimeter to check there are no broken wires in the unit.
Knowing the weight of the PSU, it'd be worth trying before shipping in or out of Norway ;-)
Let me know if you need information from mine.
Regards,
Mike
