I am considering purchasing an L1200 for which there is no baseboard. There is a baseboard mount but it is missing the front plate that tightens against the bottom of the column. Is that plate just a flat plate that could be made easily in a machine shop? I haven't seen photos of one up close but there is a wall mount on ebay right now and the front plate on it has an offset which would be like an inset when the plate is tightened, causing it to squeeze tightly against the column. I can't copy the photo because you can't do that on ebay. I'm hoping someone can provide a photo or just a description of that front plate. I am trying to attach a photo of the mount showing the missing front plate and the bolt holes.
On my L1200 the plate between the baseboard and the enlarger column is a simple flat plate. I think 4 common washers would be a good substitute for the plate.
If the column is aluminum, you want a load spreader plate, preferably steel for the front column clamp. Same thing for the plate under the baseboard. You need an alloy clamp plate to be approx 3x the thickness of a decent steel plate so it doesn't distort at the bolt holes.
