    Wisner 5x7 value?

I found a wisner 5x7 at a camera shop for $950 with 6 lens boards and both 4x5 and 5x7 backs. The guy said they have been sitting on it for some time so i would offer much less but i am curious as to the value. Had red bellows and looked like it had a lot of extension. Not sure of exact model as they were busy and i was in a hurry but i may be able to describe it if that helps. Thanks for any help. No lens included or holders.

I can call them and ask if you want, I'll try it out for a "while" to make sure it's right for you too!!!

The word "offer" is the key word.

    "how about $700.00"?

"I can't let it go that low".
    "I was thinking about $850.00".

    "Oh... I could do $750.00".
    Pause
    "but I could do $775.00"?

    "bottom line: $825.00".

"I see some pinholes in the bellows". "that's going to cost me a bunch to have it replaced"

"Ok, because of the bellows I'll take $725.00".

    "It's obsolete. I'll give you $200.00."

They were selling a while back in good used condition for $1200 with one board.
I wouldn't buy it if you're not planning to use it. They're not easy to move and make a profit. Which is why it's been at the store so long.
If it's not in "like new" shape, they're even harder to resell.

I see that Igor's has one listed for $1150. If in good condition the one you found sounds like a good deal with both backs.

It would be a user and not a seller. I first have to sell my rz kit to fund it.

Unless you are doing 5 x 7 now plan on spending a few hundred more for film holder and developing equipment.
So I would offer $200 and be willing to go up to $250. Otherwise let it sit in his inventory and cost him money for every month it doesn't move.

A Wisner 5X7 + a 4X5 back + SIX lens boards for $950 is very good. I think so because I paid $1500 to assemble the separate pieces 5y ago

I have had years of fun, so I'd willingly pay $950 today.

Enjoy even more if you get if for less ... J
