The garden can help. If no metronome, get a garden gnome.
I do use a digital device in my photographic pursuits when necessary.
When someone rags on me for using film, I use a middle digit, upraised.

Metronomes are overrated. Anyone who's been to Nome knows there's not much metro to it.

i used gnomes once but they ate all my developer
and made a mess of my processing space ...
next time i'll put a diaper on him...

the pepto i used lastnight ...
i did stand dev in the refrigerator,
(unscrewed the bulb in case it doesnt shut off when the door closes)
and the film looks a bit dense, ill see if it does the electric dance
in a little while after it washes ...
it reminds me of my pink prints when printing in chinese amidol

    i just got a PM
"make a honeycomb grid, you will have lots of little photos instead of one big one"
thanks .. i thought about that .. but i need to retain the integrity of my large format film instead of postage stamps besides why shoot lots of smalls when
you can shoot really big and reduce down ... or enlarge big...
grain gamma intensity translucency contrast ... is what i need, not tonality

i heard back from germany last night,
cant afford their handywork afterall ...
gravity boots are like a cheap alternative

    luckily my film isnt intolerant
and i gotta keep that stuff away from the gnome
the place smelled bad enuf after the shallots ...
thankfully i have saurkraut fermenting and masking one evil smell for another
