I would advise a Shen-Hoa and some good used glass over a very expensive..but very nice camera...and I believe that you would end up with a much more flexible system.

Jeremy, she was standing at my shoulder while I typed it. She smacked me atop my head then kissed me. I don't think she thought I was serious. Now that she's off to work and I have some time to think hmmm New camera, wife, camera, wife, used camera new lense, wife used camera, used lense and extra money for film or my wife. What a delima! Course if I choose the 8x10 I'll need a mistress so maybe I'll take on an 11x14 as a mistress.

One suggestion here--an adjustable piano chair. My wife lusted for one for years--only a few pros she knew had them.

Yamaha used to sell these, but I couldn't find one when we got it about 3 years back. There is a label on it, if you are interested I can find it.

Matt, That's a good idea. If it's no trouble, can you take a look and see what you can find out about the adjustable chair?

Keep them all. Take your wife in the car on romantic getaways to places you can use the camera. I am serious, my wife and 8x10 fit in my 911. On one trip we left Salt Lake early in the morning and made dinner by sunset on Fishermans Wharf. I spent the next morning shooting, went to my meeting and headed for Reno then home. It was great.

Raucous, I like that idea but her motive is to get her car back in the garage...I think she likes the little Bimmer as much as (maybe, more than) I do. She certainly has driven it more than I.

I think it would have to be something more like this...

Build a new garage, do a ground up restoration on the Bimmer (it has a very nice, straight body but the powertrain is a little tired), get teh full 8x10 kit, hire a baby sitter for the weekend and then.....

Careful you'll need another baby sitter.
