Ehhh. These cameras seem too odd. Im not going to waste my money, and just keep saving up for when Jim Chinn finishes his ULF camera. I am positive that would be a smarter idea.

The guy has several other ULF cameras, but they are all weird sizes! Not a single one is anything close to normal. He has a 12x17 and 11x15 too. I realized none of them have tripod mounts, nor are the film holders really something useable without modifications.

I actually bought an 8x15 from this fellow in India and he was very prompt on emails and answered all of my questions. The camera arrived about 12 days later and I am impressed with it. I think it is a fine piece of equipment and the fact that it is a plate holder is perfectly fine, since I will be shooting plates. The finish is great and movements are smooth. The tripod plate was no issue since I just used some 1" washers on bolts through the gaps in the turntable base into some 3/4" plywood which I then screwed a quick release plate to. Works great.

    For what its worth.

For 475 bucks, I get a tripod mount. Especially since 475 Amurican is about 1600 dollars in equivalent Indian ruples.

    Jeez.

I think I'll stick with the 8x10 Deardorff and consider myself blessed.

Tim, I'm well... and while I don't have an 8x15, I am loving my 5x12
